Lawn Care

Grass Seed  Information

Please note we DO NOT offer warranty or guarantee on grass seed or sod, both require attention and proper maintenance on a DAILY basis. Lack of proper maintenance can cause the grass seed or sod to die.

  • Newly seeded grass needs constant moisture to take root. Water triggers the seeds’ germination process, which allows them to grow into healthy, established grass. If the ground you’ve seeded is too dry, the seeds will dry up and die, and you’ll be left with bare ground instead of a lush lawn.

  • After installation water each area thoroughly twice a day on a daily basis for a minimum of 30 minutes with any conventional sprinkler. The best time to water in early in the morning, with the next best being in the evening.

  • Daily watering should occur for 6 to 9 weeks depending on the season and volume of rain fall. Our goal is to keep the soil moist but avoid ponding of water.

  • Once Grass has reached a height of 5 inches it is ready to be cut for the first time.  Mowing height should be at 3.5 inches.

Sod Information

Please note we DO NOT offer warranty or guarantee on grass seed or sod, both require attention and proper maintenance on a DAILY basis. Lack of proper maintenance can cause the grass seed or sod to die.

  • After installation water each area thoroughly twice a day on a daily basis for a minimum of 60 minutes with any conventional sprinkler. The best time to water in early in the morning, with the next best being in the evening.

  • Daily watering should occur for 6 to 9 weeks depending on the season and volume of rain fall. Our goal is to keep the soil extremely moist (almost soggy) initially for the first 2-3 weeks and then just consistently moist moving forward.

  • Once Grass has reached a height of 5 inches it is ready to be cut for the first time.  Mowing height should be at 3.5 inches.

  • Grass loves water, however, new sod is different. It is possible to overwater new sod, and it can even happen easier than you expect. New sod has very short roots which makes it harder for it to retain a lot of moisture. It is better to water new sod in a short burst with less, as opposed to large amounts of water at once.
